Welcome to the new home of the Pedal Cafe!

We are really excited to have a new spangly site that will be a great resource for all of your pedal powered needs! 2012 is looking like a good year, and we have lots of plans in the making…hopefully a new fleet of pedal powered blenders to suit every occasion (…But the exact details are a surprise so you’ll have to wait and see!) There will also be a D.I.Y guide up online soon so you can have a go at making your own pedal powered generator with the emphasis being on using recycled materials that you can pick up locally or find lurking in your garage or shed. If you want to get creative but don’t know where to start, then get in touch and we’ll give you some pointers!

Also on the cards for this year are more workshops, we are available for all kinds of events, and particularly love working with schools. After visiting a few last year we are hoping to extend the programme we already offer to include a Design & Technology project that will give a class the chance to design and make their own pedal powered generator for the school. This will help put in to action all of the processes from initial concept and design to the actual manufacturing of the product. This project will also focus on sustainability within design, encouraging the recycling of materials.
